Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Preston (Redwood & Pinewood Children's Homes)
Salary: £29,000 - £32,525 (Depending on Experience)
Total Earnings with Sleep-ins: £34,175 - £37,700 (based on 10 sleep-ins per month)
Welcome Bonus: £2,000*
Hours: 40.5 per week
Annual Leave Entitlement: 251.1 hours
Shift Pattern: One shift on, two shifts off
Hexagon Care Services is the largest privately owned provider of residential childcare in the UK, operating over 50 children's homes, 5 crisis intervention services, and 14 schools across England.
We are excited to announce the opening of two brand-new children's homes in the PR2 area of Preston: Redwood (a solo home) and Pinewood (a two-bedded home). These homes, located just 3.5 miles apart, will provide therapeutic support to young people aged 11-17, with guidance from an on-site Senior Psychologist.
About the Role
We are seeking passionate and experienced Senior Residential Support Workers to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment with experienced managers who share a commitment to providing the highest level of care to young people.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, no two days will be the same. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing daily care, support, and guidance to young people.

Participating in activities, games, and outings.

Assisting with cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe home environment.

Escorting young people to appointments and meetings.

Managing challenging behaviours with professionalism and care.

Creating a positive, nurturing environment where young people feel safe, valued, and listened to.
You will receive a comprehensive induction from our award-winning Learning & Development team and ongoing guidance from senior staff, including psychologists and therapy teams.
Requirements
Essential:
-
Minimum 12 months of experience working in a residential children’s home (experience in adult care, domiciliary care, or school/EYFS settings cannot be considered).

Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
-
QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare or Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People’s Workforce (not essential – Hexagon will fully fund the Level 4 Diploma if required).
