Are you an experienced Safeguarding Consultant? Are you social work (or equivalent) qualified and have substantial practice/management experience in a range of settings?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Safeguarding Consultant to work on an As and When required basis across England with the children and young peoples workforce in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

The role will involve working in a commercial environment as a team member responsible for the completion of safeguarding consultancy work including safeguarding audits in the sports sector.  Good IT proficiency as well as a high level of professional integrity, and sound competency in and experience of advising on complex safeguarding matters will be key requirements.  The post holder will be expected to support the Head of Business with the delivery of consultancy and auditing work, working as part of a highly skilled team where confidence and a detailed knowledge of the safeguarding agenda is essential. This is a busy and demanding environment so you should enjoy working at a pace and enjoy variety.

A professional qualification is required in social work, health, education or youth work. Substantial experience of working with children, young people and families, and of having managed service delivery is a requirement.  You must also be DBS checked.

Location: The role will consist of home working combined with travel across England.

Barnardo's Training and Consultancy Service has been established to enhance the influencing agenda externally using a social enterprising approach to design and deliver training and consultancy and auditing services commissioned both internally and externally. The successful candidate will work alongside the established core team to negotiate new work, develop proposals, produce quality materials and deliver the consultancy and auditing service.
