Salary:

Senior Youth Workers (JNC Qualified) = £38,461 - £41,470 per annum

Youth Worker (JNC Qualified) = £31,528 - £33,946 per annum (or £27,434 - £30,750 Unqualified)

Hours: 37 per week

Contract: Permanent

Hertfordshire County Council Services for Young People is the primary provider of youth work; information, advice, and careers guidance; work related learning and work experience to young people in Hertfordshire.

The Service delivers targeted prevention and early intervention work to ensure that young people get the help they need early.

It enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development.  It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.

You will have the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners, to respond flexibly to their needs and to the priorities of the Service. 

Good organisation and communication skills are essential as you will be producing reports and corresponding with young people, parents, and partner agencies.  You should be confident in the use of IT including to accurately record data.

You will be required to travel across the county so access to a vehicle is essential.

Successful unqualified applicants for Youth Worker positions will be fully funded to complete a JNC higher education qualification.
