enabling young people to succeed…

Hertfordshire County Council Services for Young People is the primary provider of youth work; information, advice, and careers guidance; work related learning and work experience to young people in Hertfordshire.

The Service delivers targeted prevention and early intervention work to ensure that young people get the help they need early.

It enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development. It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.

You will deliver face to face work in accordance with JNC terms and conditions. You will have the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners, to respond flexibly to their needs and to the priorities of the Service.

Good IT, organisation and communication skills are essential as you will need to record data on a management information system, meet targets, produce reports, and correspond with young people, parents, and partners. You will be required to travel across the county so access to a vehicle is essential.

You will have a nationally recognised JNC qualification for Youth and Community Workers and evidence of continued professional development. Alternatively, your application should demonstrate relevant skills and experiences and the ability to study at post graduate level to be considered for a trainee Youth Worker position.
