Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.

We are looking for someone who is an exceptionally talented self-starter, creative, and an innovative thinker with the ability to generate solutions and new opportunities along with excellent organisational, communication and marketing skills with a ‘can do’ attitude.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Early Years Play and Development (EYPaD) Centres. You’d be required to bring ideas and expertise to create a unique and inspiring early years’ experience that parents and carers enjoy and are happy to pay for and return frequently.

You would need to have a demonstrable experience of people management and leadership and of day-to-day management of a business, preferably within childcare, entertainment or events sector. You would need to have relevant experience, including staff scheduling, event scheduling, communicating and delivering the highest standards of customer service.

You will be leading in key areas of the operation including finance, administration, data collection, stock control, information management, marketing and communications, building maintenance and the associated health and safety considerations.

The principal service areas you will work in are:

  • EYPaD services which is a new revenue-generating project offering a growing range of services, including an on-site café
  • Development and management of the EYPaD App/On-line booking system
  • Creche

The candidate will be required to work flexibly across a number of geographic areas in Redbridge and access to a car is preferred. A willingness to work flexibly and ability to work some early evenings and occasional weekends will be welcome, as there are plans to extend the services offered during the year.

If you think you have the right qualities, we would like to hear from you.

Redbridge is committed to making safer recruitment decisions and to preventing unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children and therefore, this post will be subject to a check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.  References may also be taken up prior to interview.
