Are you a kind, curious and courageous youth programme manager?

Do you have a passion for improving services WITH young people particularly those who are more vulnerable?
Are you a successful leader, motivating teams by being playful in practice and serious about the solutions.

Sound like you? Then we’d LOVE to hear from you.

Participation People believe services work better with young people. We’re looking for a new Programme Manager (Targeted and Specialist Programmes) to help us, help services do that.

Our Target and Specialist Programmes provide spaces and opportunities for young people with additional needs or vulnerabilities to have a voice and for their voice to be listened to and acted upon.

Examples include Care Experienced, SEND and CAMHS and Young Champions teams.

We expect a GREAT Programme Manager to be a superb communicator, an excellent relationship and network builder and a supportive, empathetic colleague.

You’ll be a confident self-starter, with an eye for detail AND the bigger picture, who can help us take our programmes to the next level

Applicants with strong experience of managing projects (and budgets) with young people, a commitment to Participation People’s mission and approach and experience of project monitoring, evaluation and impact reporting will thrive in this role.

In return for your hard work, we offer a generous holiday entitlement, a competitive salary, a highly flexible working arrangement and the opportunity to work in a small team of like-minded people.

We would particularly welcome and encourage applications from applicants from black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds and from those with disabilities, as we have identified that these groups are currently underrepresented in the organisation, particularly in management roles.

The 'small print'

  • Start date: Ideally, we’d like the successful applicant in post no later than end September 2022.
  • Term: This post is a maternity cover role, and a fixed term contract to October 2023.
  • Office base: Home-based, with regular travel to London and across the UK.
