Single Homeless Project is a London-wide charity. Our vision is of a society where everyone has a place to call home and the chance to live a fulfilling life. We help single Londoners by preventing homelessness, providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change. 

Our Young People’s Services in Lewisham provides support in a safe environment for over 40 young people based in supported accommodation across multi-sites within the borough.  In this newly created post, you will work within the service, bringing your expertise and specialist skills, to lead on work with some of the more challenging client cases. 

You will also coach the team's Project/Support Workers, with key-working with young people. Developing group programs that broaden the support offered and supporting our young people, to develop the life skills that enable them to move on. 

To be successful you will have: 

  • Demonstrable experience of working with young people in a accommodation setting
  • Proven experience and skills in delivering highly personalised assessment, casework and planned support for young people
  • A strong understanding and practical knowledge relating to issues that typically disrupt progress in journeys towards independence.  E.g., mental health, substance use, self-harm, domestic violence, anger management etc
  • Evidence an ability to navigate between and across specialties whilst working with clients to create a multiagency support plan.
  • Demonstrable skills in developing and delivering group work facilitation

This role is partly shift based and will require some weekend work & Bank holidays.

This post will require an Enhanced DBS check to be processed for the successful applicant.

  • A salary increase after successfully completing six months.
  • A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am – 4pm) in non-accommodation services
