Using early-intervention and partnering with schools, local authorities and communities, their practitioners work one-to-one with vulnerable families. They look past the classroom, tackling issues like poverty and mental ill-health, providing bespoke support to overcome barriers to learning.

School Home Support Practitioner
Location: Based across schools in Bootle, L20
Working: 5 days per week, term time only.
Starting Salary: From £18,074 to £20,401 per annum


This is a varied role, and the post-holder will be based across both schools in Bootle. They will work 3 days per week at one primary school and then at the other primary school 2 days per week.

The post-holder will work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework and other activities to promote educational outcomes for disadvantaged children and families. The post-holder will need to be persistent, resilient, and tenacious along with having the experience of working with hard to engage parents.

This is an exciting opportunity and successful candidates will have good experience of working effectively with social and emotional factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn, strong abilities in engaging challenging children and their families, and a confident ability to form professional partnerships with children and their families along with experience of transition work.

The post-holder will work alongside key school staff in school to promote excellent attendance, reduce levels of absence and work with children and families to promote high levels of attendance and punctuality.
