We are seeking an inspiring and delivery focused leader to provide strategic leadership for the New Deal for Young People mission, advising the Mission Chairs.

This role will provide systems leadership for the mission, set the overall direction of travel, build pan-London partnerships, and be responsible for overall oversight of delivery for the New Deal for Young People Mission as part of the London Recovery Programme. With responsibility for the design and delivery of a wide range of youth focused projects and programmes you will ensure performance targets, outcomes and value for money objectives are met and set shared strategic priorities and alignment across the team and with other units and Directorate. 

You will report to the Senior Responsible Officer for the Mission, and work closely with the senior leadership of the mission, the AD for Health, Children & Young Londoners, AD for Team London & Sport and members of the wider pan-London mission partnership. 

This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL). At present GLA staff are working largely from home, with office space available.  Over the coming weeks and months, we will moving to hybrid working, linked to our relocation programme. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.

This job is ‘politically restricted’ under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
