Director of Support (Part Time)
Location: Streamline, Paintworks, Bristol BS4 3AS.
Salary: c. £40,000 p.a. pro rata
NCO is a national UK charity whose mission is to inspire children aged 7 – 14 years old from all backgrounds to achieve their full potential through learning and performing orchestral music. Through our programmes, young musicians take part in exceptional orchestral learning experiences with excellent tutors; they experience the joy and power of playing in live ensembles, make friends and have fun!
The Director of Support (DS) will be responsible for the training and management of NCO’s Support Managers and Support Teams and will maintain a gold standard of safeguarding at NCO. They will play a key role in the development of NCO's equality, diversity and inclusion strategies and will ensure that the organisation provides excellent support to young musicians and an essential focus on wellbeing and child voice.
The DS will be jointly responsible to the Chief Executive and Artistic & Educational Director and will report annually to the Trustees and the Safeguarding Board. They will be the main Designated Safeguarding Officer for the charity and the first contact for any safeguarding concerns. Significantly, the DS will be the crucial contact for non-musical concerns from young musicians and work with the Communications Team to build a positive and supportive dialogue with parent/guardians.
