£25,000-£30,000
Contract: Fixed term contract until March 31st 2023 (Extension expected on securing additional funding)
Full time - 40 hours per week (shift include evenings and weekends)
Location: The Way Wolverhampton Youth Zone, Wolverhampton
We are a youth work charity providing an incredible range of activities from football to mindfulness, dancing to cooking (to be honest there isn't much we don't do!) in a safe, state-of-the-art space designed with young people in mind.
Providing young people with someone to talk to and staff that will always listen, we put young people first and at the heart of what we do.

About the role
We're looking for a Mentoring & Volunteer Project Manager who has significant experience of working with young people (aged 8 - 19 up to 25 with disabilities), you must have a passion for young people and families, exceptional service, and working with external agencies.
As a member of the operational management team, you will be able to work with young people with a variety of backgrounds and needs. You will be an experienced manager of people with the capacity to lead a team, who also support young people and volunteer mentors. You will also have a strong background in recruiting and retaining volunteers.

What you need to know....
The Mentoring & Volunteer Project Manager holds overall responsibility for the delivery of our award-winning Mentoring Programme and meeting outcomes specified by funders and the strategic plan. Accountable for the effective development, delivery and reporting on programmes this role is responsible for identifying needs and developing, implementing, and gaining funding for relevant programmes based on young person need as well as build and sustain effective relationships with key partners that support and influence our work.
The Mentoring & Volunteer Project Manager will effectively lead a team of coordinators, as well as run our volunteer programme, which includes the recruitment and retention of volunteers for both the mentoring programme as well as for our open-access provision.
In addition, they will be expected to work in line with Onside Excellence framework and quality assurance programmes for youth work, ensuring that the Youth Zone provides programmes that are fun, supportive, safe and inclusive that attracts and retains members and while taking a lead role in constantly evaluating and improving the offer to young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide leadership and management for the mentoring programme, to meet the outcomes set by the Steve Morgan Foundation (Funder) as well as ensuring it is in line with the organisation’s long-term strategy, implementing and achieving relevant business plans within budget.
- Working with the Head of Operations and the Operations Management Team, to ensure the volunteer programme is high quality and engaging, supporting the recruitment and retention of volunteers across all areas of the organisation.
