Short Breaks Manager

We’re looking for an exceptional Short Breaks Manager to join our team and deliver high-quality, child-centred short breaks services to children and young people with disabilities in Camden.  PACE has recently been awarded a new contract to deliver this service, so this role is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to make their mark.

In this varied and hands-on role, you will oversee the delivery of our Short Breaks service for children and young people with disabilities. This will include setting up our new Saturday service, which will provide physical activity, sports and active play opportunities chosen by participants. In addition, you will manage the Overnight Adventures service, which helps small groups of young people with disabilities and/or complex health needs build independence and life skills through sleepovers and fun activities.

You will also act as the Deputy Manager and SENCo for our Fortune Green Playcentre, contributing to the day-to-day management of Out of School Childcare & Play services and supporting the team to provide inclusive play services to children with disabilities.

In return, we are offering a generous package to the right candidate:

Salary: £28,332

Hours: 35 hours per week (52 weeks per annum), including 36 Saturday sessions per annum (6 of which are overnight stays)

Leave: 28 days per annum (including public holidays) pro-rata.

Other benefits: 3% employer pension contribution; flexible working (outside core hours); employee assistance programme.

Location: Fortune Green Playcentre, NW6

The Person We Are Looking For:

To succeed in the role, you will have an appropriate qualification at Level 3 or above and have experience managing staff and leading a team to deliver high quality, inclusive and child-centred services for children and young people with disabilities. You will be a champion of inclusive practice and motivate your team to improve their practices.

You will be a team player with strong leadership and communication skills and be able to build positive relationships with people from all backgrounds, including service users, parents, staff and key delivery partners. Additionally, you will be able to show us your knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, EYFS, Ofsted standards and relevant current legislation, as well as interventions and approaches for supporting children and young people with disabilities.

About PACE:

We are a local, grass-roots charity providing high quality, inclusive play services in Camden to children aged 2 -18 years.

Our team is what makes our work possible, and we look for passionate, experienced team members to ensure we deliver exceptional services to our community. In return, we offer our team an extensive package of benefits including:

  • the London Living Wage,
  • 3% contribution to your pension
  • flexible leave arrangements,
  • ongoing professional development and training,
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Employee assistance programme

Because our team is our most valuable asset, we like to have our staff grow with us and promote from within.
