Playworkers and Short Breaks Playworkers 

We are looking for Playworkers and specialised Short Breaks Workers to help us plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive play services at our Camden playcentres. If you are passionate about supporting the wellbeing of children and delivering exceptional play experiences, regardless of ability, these could be the roles for you. These are 2 different role, but please feel free to apply for both. 

Role 1: Playworker 

Our Playworkers help children explore a wide range of positive activities and develop friendships through activities such as arts and crafts, sports, field trips, simple cooking, educational activities, and imaginative play.   

Salary:  £12,739- £15,146 per annum (£11.51 per hour unqualified, £13.69 per hour qualified) 

Hours:  17.5 hours per week (41 weeks per annum) during school terms, 35 hours per week during school holidays (11 weeks per annum). 

Leave:  28 days per annum (including public holidays) pro-rata. 

Other benefits:  3% employer pension contribution; flexible working (outside core hours); employee assistance programme. 

Location: Fortune Green Playcentre, NW6  

Role 2: Short Breaks Playworkers 

The Short Breaks team helps children and young people with disabilities and complex needs to engage in active play, physical activities and/or overnight stays which promote their independence, social skills and well-being.  

Salary:  £13.05-13.68 per hour   

Hours:   

1)  4.5 per session for the Saturday Physical Activity Club (running every Saturday 11am-3pm during term time 36 weeks p.a.). Staff can choose to be contracted from between 1 to 4 Saturdays per month during term time.   

2)  24.5 hours per Overnight session, 6 sessions per year (running from 11am Saturday – 11am Sunday). Overnights run from 11am on Saturday to 11am on Sunday. Workers are expected to be contracted for the full 6 overnights per year.   

Leave:  28 days per annum (including public holidays) pro-rata. 

Other benefits:  3% employer pension contribution and access to the employee assistance programme. 

Location:  Fortune Green Play Centre, NW6
