Serious Violence Project Co-ordinator

Full-Time 40 Hours per Week

7.6 Weeks Annual Leave (including Bank Holidays)

You will need to have experience and skills to manage a Community Based Serious Violence Project specifically targeted at young people aged 16-25 identified as being at risk or involved in serious violent crime including knife crime, gang related activity, child criminal and sexual exploitation, living in West and East Leicester and Charnwood.

As Project Co-ordinator you will have overall day to day operational responsibility to manage a team of community mentors whose primary role will be to engage at risk young people in positive diversionary activities and programmes based on young people’s individual need.

You will work across a partnership of statutory and voluntary organisations ensuring the project is delivered within a public health approach, with an overall aim of system change and positive outcomes for young people.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, and direct experience of project co-ordination and working with multi-agency partners.

You will require:

  • A full driving licence and use of a vehicle and be willing to travel across the city / county.
  • A recognised professional qualification in a social science up to degree level or equivalent such as: social work, youth and community work, Youth Justice, Criminology.
  • Preferably a management qualification to a minimum of level 5 ILM or equivalent or proven experience at a comparable senior level.

This Post is advertised on an initial 12 month contract (with potential for extension to 24 months).
