Part time 4 days / week • £22,500 - £28,500 pro rata • Home based, with travel across the UK

Participation People believe services work better with young people. We’re looking for a new Communications and Media Officer to help us, help organisations do that.

Our #YouthVoice Forums and Programmes provide spaces and opportunities for any young person who chooses to participate. This post will specialise in championing the work of Participation People and that of our team and their #YouthVoice Programmes.  

Participation People’s #YouthVoice programmes provide open, safe and inclusive spaces for young people to form and express their voice. They support decision makers to listen; creating solutions with young people to improve organisations and communities, together.

We expect a GREAT Communications and Media Officer to be an inspiring campaigner, an excellent relationship and network builder as well as a supportive and empathetic team player.

You’ll be proactive, confident and have a drive for social action and engagement excellence.

We welcome applicants with experience of managing interactive and enabling campaigns with young people and senior officers. Candidates with a commitment to Participation People’s values and experience of storytelling will thrive in this role.

The 'small print'

Start date: Ideally, we’d like the successful applicant in post no later than February 2022.

Term: This post is fixed term, to end on 31 January 2023 (possible extension, subject to funding)

Office base: Home based, with travel across the UK.
