The Role
At YMCA we recognise that there is a real need for safe and nurturing homes for vulnerable children.

If you would like to work for an organisation that genuinely cares about its employees, offers an excellent benefits package, believes in training and development, and enables staff to be the very best they can be, then this may be the role for you.

We will support you to achieve your Diploma level 3 and 5 qualifications and maximise your potential within the Children’s Residential service.

Your role as a Residential Social Care Worker will be to provide care and support to children and young people living in our residential homes.

You will work with the children every day to increase their social skills, education, health, and independence, as well as helping them to develop confidence and emotional well-being. You will ensure that they are safeguarded at all times whilst in your care. You will also plan and join in with activities and undertake a range of administrative tasks for which you will be trained in.

Our ideal candidate will have the Diploma 3 Health and Social Care qualification and experience of working in residential social care environments however this is not essential. If you want to support children and young people, have an interest in self-development and learning and consider yourself a good team player we would love to hear from you.

YMCA Children’s residential service have commissioned the services of a Consultant Forensic Psychologist and Clinical Lead Practitioner who is responsible for the delivery of a Trauma informed Clinical Model of care. The clinician supports our staff and young people directly to complete assessment, training and evaluation which encourages knowledge transfer from training into practice.
