Location: The North London boroughs of Enfield, Camden, Hackney, Haringey, Barnet, and Islington. 

Salary: £29,632 (London based), pro rata to part time.

Hours: 2 days a week.

Contract: Three years fixed term.

Benefits: 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and pension (pro rata)

About the role:

Kinship Young Champions is our new ground-breaking three-year project that is being funded by BBC Children in Need. The project is based across six North London boroughs and aims to bring together a group of kinship care experienced Young Champions, aged between 14 and 17 years old. Together, with your support they’ll create and deliver campaigns to raise kinship care awareness and accelerate policy, practice, and legislative change.

We are looking for a creative and inspiring senior youth participation worker to join our organisation and lead this project. You will bring experience in developing and delivering youth work projects and a passion for engaging vulnerable young people with lived experienced of being in kinship care. It’s really important that you have experience of developing and delivering inspiring and successful youth participation projects, an understanding of the political landscape affecting children’s social care with a focus on the impact on the child, and a track record of securing positive change. You’ll be really good at project management from set up to evaluation and monitoring and will be excited to own and drive this new project.

With services right across England and Wales and with unparalleled reach and engagement with 9,000 kinship carers and their children in our community, we are committed to developing a role for kinship care experienced young people in the development of policy and practice both locally and nationally.
