Our client are a national children's charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970.

They work with children, from birth through to 25 years.  Each year they support over 15,000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England. 

They are passionate, caring and trusted and their vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. They offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.

About The Role

As a Playground Manager you will be providing a range of play services that support disabled children young people and their families.

You will manage a team of play workers, alongside coordinators and senior practitioners to run services after school and weekends for children aged 6-16 with SEND, as well as a weekly youth services for young people with SEND aged 16-25.

The playground also provides busy holiday play schemes.

About You

The successful candidate must have over 3 years experienced in management, play and work with disabled children and have a professional level qualification in play or a similar qualification in a related discipline.

 In addition to: 

  • Experience of creating a positive play environment for children.
  • Through understanding of and ability to demonstrate safe practice and adherence to current Safeguarding processes.
  • Experience of managing a large flexible team including recruitment, supervision and development.
  • Ability to write accurate reports, keep records, undertake monitoring and evaluation processes.
