Contract: Full year, permanent
Hours: Full time (37.5hrs per week), Mon-Fri  
Salary: £39,118.16 – £42,157.54 pa according to experience

The Finance Manager is responsible for the provision of an excellent financial accounting service which involves everything from overseeing the accurate data entry and journals and monthly reconciliations, to producing ad hoc project fund reports, the monthly management accounts with reserves analysis and preparing annual budgets and statutory accounts for audit. The successful candidate is expected to have extensive experience of charity fund accounting and be a Qualified accountant (QBE or CCAB Part-qualified accountant may be considered). Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRMs would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be commercially aware and able to work in detail as well as understanding broader strategy to support the Head of Finance and Resources and internal Teams.

The Finance Manager will be supported by a full-time Finance Assistant and an external Finance services provider team for transaction data and journal input.

Main areas of responsibility for this role include:

  • Preparation of management accounts, annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts and reports to the Finance Committee
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and liaison with external auditors
  • Project fund accounting
  • Supervision of the sales and purchase ledgers, Petty Cash, Credit Card and Bank accounts
  • Provision of support to other departments and the Senior Leadership Team
  • Compliance with all legal and statutory authorities (e.g. Charity Commission, HMRC)
