West Yorkshire Keyworker Service - Autism and Learning Disability

Do you want to be part of a new keyworker initiative with the potential to transform families' lives and influence change within services and systems across West Yorkshire ? We are looking for passionate,  energetic and highly skilled and motivated individuals who are committed to making a difference to the lives of families and contributing to the development of a new service.

Barnardo's is recruiting a new team of keyworkers who will support children and young people with learning disabilities and young autistic people and their families as part of NHS England's Learning Disabilities and Autism Programme.

This is a new service, working in partnership with the 4 West Yorkshire Health Trusts, 5 LA's and VCSE sector and local advocacy organisations The team is made up of a manager, an administrator, 2 senior project workers and five project workers (this role). (The West Yorkshire Health Trusts are: Bradford District Care Foundation Trust, Leeds & York Partnership Foundation Trust, South West Yorkshire Foundation Trust, Leeds Community Health)

The overall aims and objectives for the keyworker roles is that families get the support they need to navigate complex systems, supported by someone they have built a trusting relationship with. Medium term we would hope that the support needed will be identified before the child, young person, family/carers reach crisis point.

As well as providing direct support to families, the senior keyworkers will provide guidance and supervision to keyworkers within the team and contribute to the overall development of the service.

When completing your application please refer to your skills knowledge and experience in relation to the Person Specification, Job Description and Additional Information document (if applicable). This should be done with an understanding of the context of the service described.
