Youth Support Worker

The Hungerford Youth and Community Centre (HYCC) is a vibrant and welcoming place, providing a bright and practical space for young people and for the community. We’re looking for an engaging and motivated person to run a youth work programme in Hungerford, including sessions for children and young people, also to recruit and manage volunteers. You will work in a supportive team with the Director of HYCC and enthusiastic Trustees of the Charity: to provide a caring, safe and inspiring environment for young people.
The role is perfect for someone truly committed to making a difference to young people, by creating an inspiring youth programme which engenders long term change, increasing young people’s opportunities for a bright and successful future.
At a time of change for this small organisation, we are seeking somebody with commitment to the role, who can connect brilliantly with young people whilst also work strategically to implement a wide ranging programme with success. In these challenging times, the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work innovatively to achieve the organisational aims of the Charity is essential.
27 hours per week £11.50/ hour, mostly in the evenings and at the weekend (£22,200 p.a. – pro rata £16,200). Position is part-time permanent. We particularly encourage applications from women and people of colour.
