Be the inspiration that changes the direction of a life

Witherslack Group are looking for a fantastic Registered Manager to join our 4 bed, purpose built children’s home for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. As a Registered Manager, you’ll lead your team to create an environment where our young people can really thrive! This is a great opportunity to join Ofsted’s number 1 children’s home provider and help us to provide the highest quality care to our young people. The role offers unrivalled variety, and is a fantastic opportunity for you to really get stuck in and make a difference!

The home is set within over 7 acres of beautiful countryside, giving our young people the opportunity to play and explore their surroundings. As part of an Integrated Therapeutic Provision, the home offers a complete package of residential care and on-site learning. There are strong links between the on-site learning centre and the children’s homes to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved for the young people.

As the Registered Manager, you’ll make sure your team and young people feel happy, safe and motivated and that the home operates to a very high standard. Managing day-to-day operations, you’ll take ownership of Ofsted statutory requirements, as well as playing an active part with the new referrals.

We’re ideally looking for someone with experience managing an Ofsted rated Good or Outstanding children’s home, but if you’re a Deputy Manager who’s ready to take a step up, we’d love to hear from you! You’ll need to hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent. Enthusiastic, resilient and good with people, you’ll have the judgement to make key decisions. You will be able to inspire and develop exceptional teams and the leaders of tomorrow. A full UK driving license is a must for this role.

Delivering positive outcomes for our young people is what we’re all about. That’s why we need a committed and enthusiastic individual, who starts every day with a fresh outlook and the passion to make a difference. We’ll give you the chance to build an exciting career in a fast-growing organisation, where you’re free to achieve your potential.

Be Rewarded
Witherslack Group are the best provider in the sector. We also offer the best salary and benefits packages. You’ll have an annual base salary of £41,000 - £45,000 plus a £2,000 Regional allowance. £1,000 for good attendance and a bonus up to 30%! As a great employer we recognise that pay is important but so is security and work life balance which is why we offer 7 weeks’ holidays per year and a company sick pay scheme that covers up to four weeks’ sickness after just two years’ service.  This is in addition to private healthcare for you and your family.

Being an employee at Witherslack Group also gives you access to a pension scheme. We will match your contributions up to 5%. We also provide Life Insurance – a benefit we hope you never need to use but something that could be incredibly important to your loved ones.

You’re not just joining a home, you’re becoming part of a family.

Don’t just take our word for it though, watch our short animation to find our what we are truly about.

We are the leading provider of specialist education and care for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, communication difficulties (autistic spectrum disorder; Asperger’s Syndrome; speech, language and communication needs), ADHD and complex learning needs.

Our track record of success and sector-leading Ofsted judgements has been achieved through an ethos of high aspiration, placement stability through our ‘team around the child’ approach, unique in-school therapy solutions and our inspiring environments. These all combine to optimise life opportunities for children and young people, give confidence to parents and carers, and deliver unmatched value for local authorities.

Our focus on support, care and acceptance allows each young person to develop as an independent individual, equipped with the knowledge, experience and life skills to look to the future with increased confidence and aspiration. We are truly proud of the role we play in changing the lives of young people and helping them to realise their full potential.

Our people are central to everything we do – the dedicated and passionate teaching, care and therapeutic professionals who combine to create a unique and inspirational environment for every child.  Their commitment and ability to genuinely connect with each child allows us to achieve long lasting outcomes and fulfil the ambitions of our young people.

The Group’s schools, children’s homes and integrated learning centres provide a complete day, residential and 52 week system of education and care. We also offer our young people the chance to access in-house vocational centres and further education facilities.

Most importantly though, we go the extra mile for all of our young people to ensure that their time in our schools and children’s homes gives them the foundations and ambitions to achieve in their futures and create their own story of success.
