Hours: 37 per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Range: £27,202 - £29,579 (qualified) £23,178 - £26,437 (trainee) pa (pro rata for part-time)

Job Number: HCC16078

Directorate: Education and Services for Young People.

About us:

The priority for YCH Services for Young People is targeted prevention and early intervention to ensure that young people get the help they need early and to reduce the necessity for higher cost specialist intervention.

The Service enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development. It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.

You will be part of a team delivering across Hertsmere to meet Service priorities. The focus of your work will be with at risk and vulnerable groups and individuals, the delivery of preventative programmes, evidencing learning outcomes and delivering to targets.

You will deliver projects and will be supported to establish new initiatives which develop, with young people, stimulating and challenging youth work programmes. You will work in group settings and deliver one-to-one to identified individuals.

You will have the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people, to respond flexibly to their needs and to the priorities of the Service. You will need to be a good communicator and advocate of young people.

You will be required to deliver face to face work in accordance with JNC terms and conditions including residentials. You will be required to travel across the county so access to a vehicle is essential.

Applications are welcome from qualified and unqualified candidates. Unqualified applicants will be required and funded to complete a nationally recognised JNC qualification for which you will be allocated study time.
