Director of Families, Quality and Commissioning

Up to £105,492

Lewisham is a young borough. One quarter of our residents are aged 0–19 years old. Our young people have huge talent and potential, and we want them to make the best start in life and grow up well-equipped to take advantage of the opportunities available to them in the diverse and vibrant city they live in. This is particularly important given that two thirds of our young people are from BAME groups.

This exciting role represent a new future for our service as we work closely with our partners to give all children a great start in life, making sure our Children’s future is everyone’s business.

This role will lead our work to meet the needs to families, children, and young people, focusing upon the delivery of our wider prevention and early help strategy as well as developing in-house family support services and our youth offer. In addition to managing our safeguarding and quality assurance service together with our Youth Offending Service, you will provide leadership to the joint commissioning service for the authority, and on behalf of the CCG and Public Health.

We are looking for a special kind of leader. One that is keen to embrace the future and new ways of working, whilst ensuring our children and families are at the heart of all the work we do. Whilst you may come to this role from any of its areas of responsibility, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver positive, successful outcomes to children and young people.
