As a CSE Support Worker, you’ll have the chance to give someone their childhood back.

Providing therapeutic care for some of the most vulnerable children in society can be challenging but the difference you make is extraordinary. Our girls have had difficult starts in life, suffering adverse childhood experiences and a range of traumatic events - having either experienced or being at significant risk of experiencing child sexual exploitation. They need a stable presence in their life, someone who can be a positive role model and show that there is more to life than what they have experienced in their past.

We meet the needs of up to 5 girls aged 7-17 who have complex social, emotional and mental health challenges. Our purpose and approach in the home is based upon “trauma-informed” care which is ensuring the physical and emotional safety of the girls is our first priority.

Our team are committed to providing a structured, safe, nurturing, caring and stimulating environment for  the girls where issues and concerns affecting both their past and their futures can be positively addressed and supported. Working in partnership with each young person, their families and other professionals, our aim is to develop self-confidence, resilience and coping mechanisms to build a better future.

To enable us to provide the best outcomes for our young people, we need people committed to supporting them, long term. It is essential you have a good appreciation of the need for structure, boundaries and shared routines, how these support positive attachment and trauma recovery in children. Experience of working within the social care setting or dealing with challenging behaviour is desirable.

Our staff understand that challenging behaviour is a presentation of underlying issues. We work with the girls 1-1 to help them through the trauma of their past, so that they have a positive future and prepare them for the next chapter of their lives.

In short, we’re giving them some of their childhood back, with hope for the future.
