School Support Practitioner
Location: Newham
5 days a week, term time only

This post is for six months: from 4th January 2021 to July 2021 (with potential to extend)
Salary range: £22,901 - £25,211 per annum - depending on experience

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues the demand for family support has also risen. It is of paramount importance to this organisation to continue supporting families to minimize negative consequences for children and families. The coronavirus pandemic has disrupted many families and there is much more to be done to help ensure every child is in school or supported back to school and ready to learn.

The post-holder will be based at a school in Newham within their family support service. The post-holder will work closely with school staff and other agencies to form a team around the child approach to meeting needs. The post-holder will be involved in multi-agency meetings.

The post-holder will work with other agencies to improve attendance and parental engagement. The post-holder will deliver a programme of casework and other activities to promote educational outcomes for disadvantaged children and families. The post-holder will need to be persistent, resilient and tenacious.

This is an opportunity for the successful candidate, who will have extensive experience of engaging children and their families and a confident ability to form professional partnerships.
