Can you provide high quality therapy?

Can you work flexibly within a dynamic team?

Can you guide young people to transform their lives?

Oasis Hub Waterloo is seeking a skilled, adaptable, committed and passionate person who can provide high impact therapeutic services for local young people (aged 10 - 19) who live work or play in the north Lambeth/Southwark area.

Qualities we are looking for include:

  •  Proven experience providing therapeutic services with inner city children and young people
  •  Solid understanding and experience of supporting vulnerable/at risk young people
  •  A team player, with excellent and adaptable relational and organisational skills
  •  Able to be self-motivated and work independently

The Child and Adolescent Therapist will provide accessible, appropriate and high quality therapy for a range of young people.  We work with a diverse cohort of young people, the majority of which are of African and Caribbean ethnicity. This role will need to be culturally competent, taking in consideration the cultural, social and individual factors that can impact effective engagement. Many young people this role will support will have been affected by issues such as adverse childhood experiences, trauma and low self-esteem.

Oasis Hub Waterloo is a fast-moving, innovative charity which offers opportunities to its employees to grow – the Child and Adolescent Therapist will be instrumental in supporting Oasis Hub Waterloo services to be trauma led and trauma informed alongside other Oasis Waterloo project leads.

Oasis Hub Waterloo provides a broad and inclusive range of community development services for vulnerable and isolated people. Our services incorporate two Academy schools (one primary and one secondary), a children's centre, a city farm, sports programmes, targeted youth programmes, a foodbank, debt advice centre, a library, a café, a community centre, adult learning programmes and a great deal more. We deliver these services over a range of locations in Southwark and Lambeth reaching more than 1,200 beneficiaries every week.

Oasis believes that every person matters and, as a result develops community hubs that meet people’s holistic needs – educationally, physically, spiritually, economically, environmentally and socially that can benefit the whole person and the whole community.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing national organisation, making a difference to communities on a local level, while individually improving the life chances of young people.  As part of the package, Oasis offers:

  • A pension scheme, currently offering 7% employer contribution
  • A generous holiday allowance.

If you are interested in this position, please send your CV via the form below, along with a covering letter which addresses the aspects of the Job Description and person specification criteria (attached at the bottom this advert).

We actively encourage applications from people of all ethnic backgrounds and minority and underrepresented groups.

Completed applications should be returned by 12 Noon Wednesday 9th December 2020.

Interviews will take place in Waterloo Wednesday 16th December 2020.

Oasis is committed to making a difference to the lives of the communities it works in, and as such, you must show a willingness to demonstrate commitment to the values and behaviours, which flow from the Oasis ethos.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks.
