Children’s Services - Targeted Youth Support Service

Salary: £42,720 - £46,635 per annum

3 x Full time, permanent

Countywide – 3 locations: City & South. North, East & Broadland. West & Breckland

In Norfolk we have exciting and ambitious plans to enhance the way we work with young people and their families. We are building a brand-new Targeted Youth Support Service. This will form part of a multi-agency commitment to improving outcomes for young people at risk of suffering harm outside of their family home. Relationship based practice will be at the heart of what we do. We are looking for a range of managers and practitioners who can build trusted relationships with young people and provide interventions that increase safety and support a positive transition to adulthood.

As an enthusiastic and skilled professional, you will manage a targeted youth support team to deliver high quality practice in which interventions are young person centred and community based to achieve positive outcomes for young people. You will provide professional expertise to practitioners who contribute to existing plans and support young people in their communities. You will ensure all casework is effectively carried out to the required professional, and service standards and ensure relevant performance targets are achieved.

With a JNC recognised professional qualification in youth and community work, or a Degree or Diploma in Social Work, or significant experience in managing youth justice or family support services, you will evidence experience of working with vulnerable adolescents and have a good understanding of extra familial risk factors. You will have the ability to design, monitor and evaluate informal education, youth work, and or behaviour change and harm reduction interventions. With experience of people and performance management, you will lead and motivate the team within your locality.

As part of your role you will be required to travel and will be responsible for your own travel arrangements. You will be required to provide line manager support to practitioners working out of office hours during evenings and weekends on a rota basis and we envisage this to be one in four weekends.

We also have a great opportunity for Senior Practitioners. With a Professional qualification in Youth work, Social work or other relevant degree level qualification, you will have previous experience in youth work, social work, youth justice, or other relevant field including substantial experience of working with vulnerable adolescents.

This is a great opportunity to lead one of our teams within our brand-new Targeted Youth Support Service to connect, safeguard and improve outcomes for young people.
