School-Home Support Practitioner – East London

Term time + 2 weeks
Salary range: £22,901 – £25,211 per annum (depending on experience)
This is a temporary role and will start ASAP to 31st July 2021.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the demand for family support has risen. It is of paramount importance for this organisation to continue supporting families to minimise negative consequences for children. The coronavirus pandemic has disrupted many families and there is much more to be done to help ensure every child is in school or supported back to school and ready to learn.

The post-holder will be based at a West Ham Primary School, focusing their support on improving attendance, punctuality and engagement. The post-holder will work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework and other activities to promote educational outcomes for disadvantaged children and families. The post-holder will need to be persistent, resilient and tenacious along with having the experience of working with hard to engage parents.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate, who will have good experience of working effectively with social and emotional factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn, strong abilities in engaging challenging children and their families, and a confident ability to form professional partnerships with children and their families along with experience of transition work

The post-holder will work alongside key school staff in school to promote excellent attendance, reduce levels of absence and work with children and families to promote high levels of attendance, punctuality and engagement.
