  • Building appropriate relationships with, and supporting young people through 1:1 or group mentoring.
  • Create pathways for inspiring young people to engage in positive volunteering opportunities.
  • Writing reports of the impact and outcomes of your activities.

Apart from having the ability to build a rapport with young people and understanding the current issues that effect them , you could be successful in this role if you:

  • Have a recognised qualification in youth work and/or community work – minimum Level 1 or qualification by experience (experience in an education setting is an advantage).
  • Experience of mentoring or working with young people in a community setting and on a 1:1 basis.
  • Are self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and organise your own time.

In return, Oasis can offer:

  • Flexible working practices and family friendly policies.
  • A supportive network and family of staff in a motivating working environment.
  • A non-contributory defined benefit pension scheme with 7% employer contributions.
  • 25 days holiday per year (plus Bank Holidays), rising to 30 days after 2 years of service.
