Carefree is recruiting a Social Worker to manage our Personal Advisor services for young people leaving care

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled social worker (registered with HCPC) to deliver social work management and supervision to our experienced team of Personal Advisors who support a proportion of Cornwall’s care leavers.

Carefree offers great terms and conditions and a friendly team to work with.  Salary will be between £34000 - £37000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.  Pension contributions at up to 5% of salary.

Carefree’s team is multi-disciplinary, encompassing youth work, social work, formal education and psychology and workers hold a variety of professional qualifications. 

The post holder will supervise, line manage and support the Personal Adviser team and also work collaboratively across all of Carefree’s services to promote the best outcomes for young people leaving care: 

• Supervise, support and provide quality assurance for the work of Personal Advisers in their delivery of services to care leavers, enabling them to have a clear understanding of the particular vulnerabilities of care leavers, risk in adolescence, support on offer in the community, housing/homelessness, welfare benefits, health and  mental health
• Have a working knowledge of the Care Planning Regulations 2010
• Work to Carefree’s mission statement of ‘giving young people in and leaving care the chance to do things for themselves and others’ in line with the organisational strategy, working collaboratively across the Carefree team to promote an integrated offer to young people
• Work in partnership with Cornwall Council to improve outcomes for all care leavers in Cornwall, including ensuring that their voices are heard

The post will be based at Carefree’s offices in Redruth and at Chy Trevail, Bodmin (main work base will depend on the successful candidates’ residence) and is for 37 hours per week.
