Emotional Well-Being and Mental Health Coordinator
Carefree is recruiting an Emotional Well-Being and Mental Health Coordinator, a suitably qualified, experienced and highly skilled practitioner who will be able to help young people increase emotional well-being and their ability to form positive relationships.
The post holder will work collaboratively across Carefree’s team of youth workers, social workers, Personal Advisors and education specialists to promote positive mental health for young people in and leaving care. Qualifications could include Mental Health Nursing, Youth Work, Social Work or Teaching with significant experience in informal group work and mental health.
The role will involve:
- Planning, leading and coordinating work with young people and those who work with them that increases emotional well-being and mental health
- Developing groups and relational activities across Cornwall which enable young people to understand themselves and others whilst enjoying and achieving
- Supervision, line management and support of staff including building the capacity of Carefree team members to deliver work that builds emotional well-being, resilience and social competence
Salary will be in the pay range £28,456 – £34,324 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Pension contributions at up to 5% of salary.

The role with involve:
Delivering Peer Mentor led positive activities, a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled practitioner who will be able to develop and deliver, co-produced with young people, a programme that trains and supports peer mentors to run positive activities for other young people in care in Cornwall focusing on helping young people build positive relationships, achieve formal and informal learning outcomes and understand themselves and others.
Salary will be in the pay range £19,625 - £23,550 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Pension contributions at up to 5% of salary.
Both posts will be based at Carefree’s offices in Redruth and are for 37 hours per week. Carefree offers great terms and conditions and a friendly team to work with.
