YC Hertfordshire is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and performance focused manager to lead a team of both careers guidance and work-related learning practitioners.  Working within a successful integrated young people’s service, this is an exciting opportunity to show strong performance management skills whilst being creative and innovative in achieving young people’s progression, achieving targets and with a proven record of being able to negotiate a traded income.

YC Hertfordshire has a comprehensive portfolio of services mapped against the Gatsby benchmarks and you will use your previous experience of delivery in school/college settings in the CEIAG or WRL/WEX field to successfully negotiate traded work, respond quickly and effectively to new initiatives, meet contract targets and promptly resolve any areas of risk.

YC Hertfordshire is part of Hertfordshire County Council’s Children’s Services, our service delivery makes a clear contribution to targeted prevention and early intervention.  The work of your team to support this key strategic aim will include with: CLA, care leavers and with other vulnerable groups and individuals; and of course, with those who are NEET or at risk of becoming so.

You will have the opportunity to forge positive relationships with a diverse range of partners, responding flexibly to the needs of young people and the Service. Working with your Area Team Manager, you will use your commitment for independent and impartial guidance and work experience to successfully market YC Hertfordshire portfolio of services to leaders in a variety of settings.

You will need to be flexible in your working hours to include occasional evening or weekend work and be able to travel across the county and surrounding areas, so access to a vehicle is essential.

You will be qualified to degree level, with evidence of continuing professional development relevant to IAG and WRL and the ability to put this learning into practice.
