Family Support Worker

Hours: One post at 30 hours week and one post at 37.5 per week 

Full-time Salary: £21,879 (Rising to £23,023 on completion of a successful probation and any required training).   The package includes a pension scheme, own laptop and mobile for work.

A full driving licence and use of a car are essential for this role.

Are you looking for a job where you can really make a difference? We have an exciting opportunity for two Family Support Workers to join our Family Centre team to provide integrated services and information for children under 11 years old and their families

The postholders will be assigned to a YMCA Family Centre and will work across other sites as necessary.

The key elements of the post are to:

  • Promote the engagement of parents of under 11s in their children’s learning, development and wellbeing, with a particular focus on the more vulnerable families in the community. This will also include engaging parents-to-be.
  • Contribute to targeted information, support and advice to families identified by the centre and partner agencies such as Health and Social Care. This work will include one-to-one work, home visiting and group work as appropriate to meet the needs of the families.
  • Participate in the Early Help Assessment process, including attendance at multi-agency professional’s meetings, supporting the engagement of families in greatest need in order to improve outcomes for children under 11.
  • Work towards and achieve the agreed internal and external Key Performance Indicators and performance objectives and ensure a high level of service is provided at all times.
