This job is for you if you enjoy the buzz of a busy project as much as you love nature. You'll be keen to share your enthusiasm for the natural world with children and families in a variety of locations across the city, including parks, hubs and community gardens. You'll be responsible for delivering and planning a programme of free nature-based family events and activities across Cardiff. These events encourage children and families to enjoy nature in their local area and inspire them to learn more through our client's free Wild Challenge award scheme.

You'll be part of the enthusiastic Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff team of staff and volunteers, including our Event Volunteers whom you'll be responsible for leading. The Giving Nature a Home in Cardiff Project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund until 2022 and broadly encompasses delivering free schools outreach sessions and nature-based events whilst helping communities to improve sites in Cardiff for pollinators. Through this role, you'll be confident professionally representing the organisation and working closely with their project partners, City of Cardiff Council and Buglife Cymru.

You'll have an impressive track record of getting things done and an excellent eye for detail to ensure all work is delivered to a consistently high standard. You'll be confident and charismatic and able to lead and inspire staff and volunteers, proactive at working across multiple departments, an excellent team player and well organised to ensure tasks are completed on time.

You'll have experience in planning, delivering and managing formal and informal learning experiences for children. This includes the setup and breakdown of activities, building long-term relationships with local organisations and planning activities in line with the organisation's objectives. To be able to deliver family events during school term times, weekend and evening working is a requirement of this role.

The ablility to communicate in Welsh is highly desirable for this role.
