Senior Business Support Officer (5 days)

S01 (in the region of £32, 577)

Closing date:  12th July 2019

Interviews:  Week commencing 15th July

Family Support is an independent organisation providing services to the local authority, London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.  Our independence allows us to be agile in the way we deliver our service and requires that our staff are agile and flexible. We are currently looking for a Senior business support officer, to provide a first-class service to our colleagues and our families.

The successful candidate will manage and oversee a team of support officers, providing the administration to a team of professionals (Social Workers, Family Support Practitioners, Early Years Advisors and Children’s Centres) in Hammersmith and Fulham.   You will be accountable to a Locality Manager and responsible for the smooth running of various back office and frontline administrative tasks within various localities throughout Hammersmith.

You will supervise up to 5 members of the business support team and be expected to act as a mentor for junior colleagues demonstrating best practices and behaviours. You will be required to work out of different Hammersmith and Fulham sites and have day to day flexibility as things change.  This role does require an individual who is able to cope under pressure when assisting vulnerable members of the community and also be the front of house welcome to many different people.

Strong IT skills are required along with an ability to independently problem solve.  Experience using systems such as Office 365, Excel, Mosaic and Estart are a distinct advantage.  This role does require an exceptionally well organised individual with a resilient approach to getting the job done.

Together we have an ambitious plan to deliver more responsive and impactful early intervention that works in partnership with other organisations, the community and families.  We want to see life chances enhanced and over ten years the cost (both human and financial) of failure reduced.  We need leaders who are up for a challenge, are willing to take responsibility and who share and want to be a part of our vision.

So if that is you, and you have the experience, drive and appropriate qualification (business support and administration) that we are looking for then please do apply.

Company

We are here to help families in Hammersmith & Fulham thrive.

Our family centres are on hand so mums, dads, carers and children can make new friends and enjoy play and learning experiences together.

Loving, positive and nurturing relationships help children and young people develop the healthy brains they need for future life challenges.

And anything that gets in the way of these positive experiences can lead to toxic stress causing a child's healthy brain development to become impaired.

The good news is our brains aren't fully formed until around the age of 25, so there are plenty of opportunities to help young people develop the skills they need and to overcome the impact of earlier toxic stress.

Our family centres

Our family centres offer a range of experiences for families with children. These include learn and play sessions, baby massage, health visitor clinics, English language classes, sleep workshops and much more.

For older children and young people we offer access to youth provision and are here to help young carers. We also offer support to families who have special educational needs and disabilities.

All our experiences help to ensure that toxic stress is reduced for your child or young person and that they have the best start in life.

Here for families

Having children can be great fun but sometimes things can get hard and we are here for worries big and small. It could be dealing with problems at home with drugs or substance abuse, struggling to cope or feeling low. Perhaps you have housing problems or need help keeping the kids active or eating well.

We are here to provide quick and easy access to support and advice.

We help families thrive by building their confidence so that they can resolve issues before they become more difficult to manage. And that means we can help children and young people develop the resilient brains they need for future life challenges.
