The Department of Children’s and Community Services at the City of London Corporation is committed to putting our looked after children and care leavers at the heart of everything we do.

Working within the remit set by the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service, the Participation Officer will be responsible for supporting children in care and care leavers to have voice within the local authority area, within formal democratic processes influencing the use of resources and the design and delivery of services; and within their communities, through developing opportunities for them to become involved and through supporting them to develop their confidence and capacity to take up these opportunities.

Working within a small team, based within the Square Mile your work will focus on working with care leavers and children in care who are predominately unaccompanied minors. The role supports the integration of this unique group ensuring that those that face the greatest access barriers can benefit from the Participation Service, express their views, and take advantage of wider opportunities offered by the City of London Corporation.
