Youth Outreach Team, Missing Children Lead
Milton Keynes Council | Full-Time Youth Worker position
Qualification: JNC Youth & Community Work
Grade: JNC 18-21 (£28,787-£31,179)
Young people are our future and deserve to grow up in a place where they feel safe and protected. Youth work is critical to ensuring that young people have the best opportunities to achieve their full potential. By providing high quality informal education opportunities we can promote their personal and social development. We want to ensure that young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life have a positive transition to adulthood.
Milton Keynes Council, Youth Faculty are now recruiting for a Lead Role in Missing Children as part of our Youth Outreach Team. If you are passionate about helping young people to become confident, informed and empowered, we want to hear from you.
You will be part of a team delivering support across Milton Keynes and the focus of your work will be with vulnerable and at-risk groups. You will engage young people with preventative programmes which support personal development and learning.
Purpose of job
- Develop and facilitate the delivery of Missing Children and positive activities, in particular to specific groups of young people who require additional support;
- Improve learning, education and personal development;
- Improve health and promote healthy lifestyles;
- Explore the impact of anti-social behaviour;
- Promote respect and supportive relationships;
Key Objectives
- To develop and deliver personalised packages of support for young people to assist them in overcoming barriers which may be impacting on their personal, social, educational and economic progression;
- To ensure that systems and processes are in place locally so we can monitor the amounts of home interviews taking place for our missing children within the allocated time;
- To deliver appropriate group based interventions, ensuring that plans are outcome focussed and progress is reviewed effectively;
