Are you an expert in liaising with families, educational specialists and external agencies?

We are looking for an outstanding individual to secure positive transition outcomes for young people though direct and indirect training and to give information and guidance to families outside of our services.

What are we looking for?

As part of our Learner and Family Support team, we're seeking an experienced, organised and forward-thinking Learner and Family Support Manager to support and advise Ambitious about Autism learners to make exciting and successful transitions out of Ambitious College, TreeHouse School and The Rise School. This will entail working across our services to engage with the trans-disciplinary teams, families and other external agencies, thinking creatively around possible solutions.

To succeed in this key role, our successful candidate will have strong communication and relationship-building abilities, plus substantial experience in developing and maintaining referral routes and managing a caseload. You should also have:

  • Degree level education and a qualification in Social Work, SEN, IAG or other relevant area
  • Excellent organisational skills, with experience of managing meetings and events, including open days workshops and transition events
  • Excellent communication skills, especially strong presentation capabilities to produce high quality written material
  • Impressive interpersonal, time-management and prioritisation abilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EHCP and SEND legal framework, case law and policy environment
  • A personal commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare vulnerable adults
  • An understanding of the adult service and further education sector for young people with complex needs

You will:

  • Coordinate and become a central point of contact for colleagues – both internally and externally – to ensure effective and joined-up transition planning
  • Ensure that young people in our educational settings are meaningfully involved in all decision-making about their future through the provision of expert 1-2-1
  • Facilitate joint outcome setting between home and
  • Train staff in our education settings around how to best support young people and their families to access IAG and external
  • Develop relationships with key external agencies and organisations to improve support for young people with autism, including other education providers, health, social care and community
  • Promote transition events and curated learning sessions to external stakeholders.
