Head of Growth & Development

Our role: We are looking for a first class leader, coach and mentor who will provide our dispersed team of Development Workers with guidance, support and advice on growth, development, volunteer recruitment and retention. The role will coordinate and drive forward our work in these areas; helping the Sea Cadets to make a difference to the lives of even more young people across the UK.

What we’re looking for? 

If you have excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload and operate in a matrix management model this could be the role for you.  You will be enthusiastic and able to enthuse others. An understanding of issues facing volunteering, recruitment and retention growth in voluntary organisations and the effective management and support of remote workers is essential.

The successful candidate will have:

Strong organisational and project management skills Good communications and interpersonal skills and have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships Good attention to detail Good IT skills Depending upon the candidates, this post will either be home based, located at one of our Area Offices or at the MSSC Headquarters in London.
