Camden Children and Young People’s Disability service (CYPDS) was established in July 2016 to provide a specialist service for children from birth to young adults up to the age of 25 with complex and profound disabilities laying firm foundations to provide a range of statutory, social care services and interventions with a view to establishing life journey plans. CYPDS work closely with a range of statutory and voluntary service providers including education, health and housing to ensure a holistic package of support is in place to promote positive outcomes for children and young people and young adults including a clear focus on the young person’s transition to adulthood.

The role

This is an exciting time to join the service and we are looking for highly talented, enthusiastic child, transition and young adult focused social worker that are person centred and pro-active thinkers with proven experience of working within an integrated setting with disabled children, young adults and their families. We currently seeking super talented, highly motivated experienced Social Worker to join our diverse and highly skilled service. We are looking for Social Worker who are keen to progress and share our values of working as one team and finding better and more innovative ways of doing things within CYPDS.

About you

 The successful candidate will be an experienced HCPC registered Social Worker. You will be a pro-active analytical thinker, with experience of working within a multi-agency context as well as a sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. We need a strong team player that will bring improved solutions for service delivery and work in partnership with parents and young people to achieve desired outcomes.

You will be part of developing and supporting a comprehensive service for Disabled Children and Young People and their families arising out of the Council's duties and powers under children and adult legislation and regulations, Council and Departmental policies and procedures. You will confident working in accordance with guidelines set out by local management and to make appropriate use of statutory, independent and voluntary resources.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
