About us

We are an international human rights organisation working to end child trafficking and exploitation through survivor care and prevention. Within the UK, our charity works in partnership with local authorities to provide care and support to any young person from abroad that may have been trafficked.

Overview

We are looking for specialist carers to join our team in providing a home for children (16+) that have been trafficked into and within the UK.

Carers must pass background clearances, and be in good physical health. Our most successful carers are open-minded, dependable, patient. Having a flexible schedule, being tolerant and demonstrating the ability to work as a member of our team are all important qualities for success.

About the Role

Specialist carers play a vital role in caring for our children and young people; helping them to lead happy, healthy lives. Children and young people come into our service and the care of local authorities through no fault of their own. They are looking for stability, someone to be there and someone to care. These children and young people will need someone present throughout the day, providing for their essential needs and supporting their recovery and development.

About you

We are looking for people from all walks of life to become specialist carers. Experience as a foster carer would be a plus but not essential.

Applications are not restricted by age, race, gender, religion, sexuality, culture.

You will need time and appropriate space in your family home for a child in need. There must be at least one non-working adult in the home who is the main responsible carer.

References, DBS Background, Employment Screening, Social Media and Home Health and Safety Checks will be carried out as standard.

Must be able to work cross culturally with at risk children and young people, and understand, and play a full part in safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.

Training

You will receive mandatory training and ongoing Love146 Social Worker placement support

Allowance

Please note that carers are classed as self-employed.

You will receive a generous allowance when caring for a child or young person. Typically, while the child / young person is placed with you, the minimum allowance that you will receive is £300 per week. The allowance will be at a higher rate on initial placement (first 3 to 6 months).
