Vacancy 1 - Fostering Team Manager – Supervision and Support

Vacancy 2 - Fostering Team Manager – Special Guardianship and Connected Persons

Are you ready for a new exciting challenge? We have fantastic opportunity within our Fostering Service for a Team Manager in our Supervision and Support Team and Special Guardianship and Connected Persons Team

Dudley has a revitalised senior management team, resulting in the transformation of our services for children and their families. Dudley has become a thriving authority; we are committed to achieving the best outcomes possible for all our children and families.

Our fostering service has just completed a successful modernisation programme, which means we are now in a position to recruit to two new permanent posts within the service.

In Dudley, we are committed to supporting our foster carers; working closely with children’s social work teams and professionals to ensure that all our children feel safe and are well cared for and achieve their true potential.

The Supervision and Support Team has responsibility for the supervision and ongoing development and support of approved foster carers.

The Special Guardianship and Connected Persons Team has responsibility for assessment and support of Connected Carers and for progressing Special Guardianship Assessments in line with children’s permanence plans, as well as SGO post order support. This can be fast paced due to responding to immediate placements of children looked after.

The successful candidates will provide leadership, motivation and drive to their teams and work alongside the Team Manager in the Recruitment and Assessment Team.

Applicants should have a social work qualification and experience of working with Foster Carers along with a sound understanding of the key legislation, policy and best practice guidance underpinning this area of work. They should also be able to demonstrate vision, with excellent leadership skills to ensure we continue to strive to offer the best services for the children we look after.
