Hours: Residential Holidays (lasting 5 – 7 days) between July and November.
Location: Across England
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: Daily rate of £107.34 (maximum 10 days)

About the role

With your knowledge and skills combined with your leadership experience you will discover that leading a unique group holiday is a deeply rewarding and life enriching experience.

As a Holiday Leader you will make a real difference to people’s lives, in supporting holidaymakers to enjoy activities such as roller-coasters, feeding the chickens or sailing.

You will be responsible for leading, supporting, and motivating a team of volunteers so that every holidaymaker receives the care and support they need to have a fantastic holiday, which meets their individual choices and aspirations.

You will have overall responsibility for the holiday group’s wellbeing and for maximising the holiday experience for all its participants. With full support from the Holidays Team, this will involve:

Preparation and planning before the holiday, including liaison with families, carers and holiday volunteers;

  • The day-to-day management of the holiday; and
  • Participation in reviewing and evaluating the holiday after it has finished.

You’ll be joining a diverse team and network of leaders with a real passion for enabling individuals to get the most from their holiday. Our client will give you a high level of individual support via phone and email, face-to -face training and support at their weekend preparation events – as well as a wealth of creative, innovative and practical ideas from the experience of your peers.

About the charity

Our client is a national charity for everyone who is deafblind and for everyone living with complex disabilities. The organisation is here to offer personalised support to help people communicate and experience the world. They believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Their experts offer support that’s tailored to the individual needs of each person, whether that’s at their centres, through their holidays and short breaks, or in people’s own homes. In addition to practical support, they also provide information to families and campaign for the rights of people with complex disabilities to take part in life.

By applying your skills to the challenge, our client is confident that you will gain as much as you give to your team and your holidaymakers.
