Fixed-term maternity cover, with a start date of approx. 1st February 2019

CARIS Camden Families is a project of CARIS Camden (registered charity no. 1121919) which supports homeless children and their parents living in hostels in the London Borough of Camden. We do this by running a range of front-line services to mitigate some of the disadvantage families experience living in insecure, overcrowded temporary accommodation. For children, our services include an in-hostel after-school club, an in-hostel homework club, a programme of enrichment trips and a summer holiday scheme. For parents, we offer welfare support and advocacy work to help them navigate their path out of family homelessness.
We are looking for a Project Manager for a period of maternity cover to lead our small staff team and large network of volunteers. Key to this role is a genuine passion for combatting family poverty and delivering support services for children and adults at a grassroots level in a dynamic, hands-on way. With the energy, prioritisation skills and focus to not only lead strategically but get stuck in with the day-to-day activities of our client-facing work, the Project Manager will have the ability to relate to- and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work in an independent and proactive way to progress the project’s reach and scope.
The successful candidate will have held a senior position in a similarly frontline organisation, with experience of leading and inspiring a successful team, setting strategic goals and measuring results in line with the expectations of stakeholders and funders, and a proven track record in managing organisational finances. Strong presentational and reporting skills are essential for this post, as is the ability to prioritise a heavy workload and a varied, demanding schedule.
This is a fixed-term position to cover a period of maternity leave, which will commence on 1st February 2019 with a salary of NJC Scale SO2 (£32,460 – £33,314 per annum, dependent on experience) plus additional travel allowance. While we are advertising this as a 35 hours, full-time position, we are prepared to consider this as a 28 hours, 4 day a week role with the salary adjusted pro-rata accordingly, subject to candidates' interest.
Application deadline: Wednesday 19th December 2018 at 23.59.
Interviews: week commencing Monday 7th January 2019 with a possible additional trial day if shortlisted.
To apply, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application pack. Please do not send in your CV as you will not be considered for this post if you do so.
