Senior Youth Worker

Hertfordshire County Council is a leading local authority with a highly regarded YC Hertfordshire service which delivers a range of community and school-based work including targeted prevention and early intervention youth work projects and programmes.
You will be part of a team delivering across St Albans to meet Service priorities. You will develop young people’s confidence, self-esteem and resilience to enable them to learn new skills and enhance their employability. You will be working with vulnerable groups; those who are challenged in education, their community or home life.
You will establish new initiatives and develop, with young people, stimulating and challenging projects and programmes - evidencing outcomes and delivering to targets. You will mainly work in group settings but also deliver work to identified individuals.
The ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners, to respond flexibly to their needs and to the changing priorities of the Service is essential. You will need to be a good communicator and advocate of young people.
You will deliver face to face work in accordance with JNC terms and conditions including residentials. You will be required to travel across the county so access to a vehicle is essential.
