Regulation Officer/Inspector – Special Interest Care Homes and Domiciliary Care Services for children and young people
Salary £51,266 - £57,109
The Care Commission is a newly created independent regulatory body in Jersey. When fully established it will be responsible for the regulation of all health and social care services. From the end of 2018 the Commission will be registering and inspecting services for children and adults, to make sure they are of a good quality, comply with the relevant regulations and standards and deliver safe and effective care and support.
We are currently preparing for the implementation of new legislation and are looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced inspector. You will be a registered social worker, with a background in regulating or managing residential care services for children and young people. If you have a passion to make a real difference in improving the experience and outcomes for children and young people receiving care this may be the role for you.
You will have a recognised social work qualification with a minimum of three years post qualifying experience and an in-depth knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and children’s social care policy and practice. You will also be able to evidence skills and expertise in the supervision of social work practice and leadership in the development of practice standards.
You will be a credible, articulate professional, comfortable working with children and young people, as well as their parents, siblings and wider social networks. You will be skilled and experienced in working within a team setting and engaging with senior managers. You will be able to build relationships, take decisions, provide accurate and evidence based feedback to registered providers, but also be able to inspire providers to improve their services.
