Our amazing children and young people, and our highly motivated children’s workforce, make Derbyshire an energetic, exciting and friendly place in which to live and work. In common with all areas, there are some children who need our help and protection, and some families who need support. We are constantly striving to improve our multi-agency practice, to help these children and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Reporting to the Head of the Child Protection and Independent Reviewing Officer service, this post will be at the forefront of driving forward our strategic partnership plans to strengthen multi-agency practice to help and protect our most vulnerable children.

This is a unique opportunity to guide services through an important period of change, and we are looking for an individual with high aspirations for all children and young people, strong and proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams and services to maximise their performance and impact.

You will be able to work at pace, and establish effective partnerships with public agencies and the voluntary and community sector, to oversee the continuation and development of multi-agency practice to safeguard children. You will require extensive knowledge and experience of child protection, a successful record of achieving outcomes for children and the passion which this important role requires.

For further information about this role, please contact Linda Dale, Service Director for Performance, Quality and Partnerships on 01629 532456.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
