Public Health Specialist - Lambeth Early Action Partnership (LEAP)

Working closely with Lambeth’s Public Health team and children’s services this senior role will support the delivery of an integrated early year’s pathway. The role will also oversee the creation of an innovative oral health programme working closely with health visitors, midwives, GPs and other community health partners.

LEAP is three years into the delivery of the Big Lottery’s 10 year “ A Better Start “ programme which aims to improve the life chances of babies and very young children by delivering a significant increase in the use of preventative approaches in pregnancy and the first three years of life. By drawing on the best evidence for interventions in diet and nutrition, social and emotional development and communication and language LEAP is working across the whole early year’s sector in Lambeth. Our client are developing a portfolio of early intervention programmes for pregnant women, babies and children 0-3 to ensure that every baby and child has a better start in life.
This is a unique opportunity to join the LEAP team in Lambeth and is critical to driving lasting change on this exciting project working alongside families, communities, and voluntary and statutory sector partners, supporting LEAP’s ambitions for lasting systems change.
Holding an MSc in Public Health with considerable experience in relevant public health programmes, you will provide leadership by using your knowledge to support, inform and influence an evidence-based approach within LEAP. You will design frameworks for commissioning and the delivery of high quality equitable services across LEAP’s multi-agency Partnership. You will also contribute to the development of a new and innovative data integration strategy with local partners, a key driver for systems change.
A strategic thinker, you will have proven leadership skills and excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
The role will be based in Lambeth, with some working at our client's offices in Islington and the possibility of occasional travel, for which notice will be given.
