Working closely with LEAP’s delivery partners you will co-ordinate learning and development opportunities for the early year’s workforce, and wider stakeholders who come into contact with families with young children.

LEAP is three years into the delivery of the Big Lottery’s 10 year “ A Better Start “  programme which aims to  improve the life chances of babies and very young children by delivering a significant increase in the use of preventative approaches in pregnancy and the first three years of life. By drawing on the best evidence for interventions in diet and nutrition, social and emotional development and communication and language LEAP is working across the whole early year’s sector in Lambeth.  They are developing a portfolio of early intervention programmes for pregnant women, babies and children 0-3 to ensure that every baby and child has a better start in life.

Critical to the success of the programme  is leading and coordinating all workforce development activities to upskill  the wider workforce across statutory agencies, voluntary and community sector partners, health visitors, children’s centre staff, volunteers, and parent and community champions in Lambeth.

They are looking for someone with experience of engaging and working effectively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of high quality learning opportunities. They would like someone who can contribute to thinking about local organisational transformation to help ensure prevention and early intervention are at the heart of early years services.

 You will also have substantial knowledge of children’s early year’s policy and practice, including health and social care and related workforce development issues along with excellent change management skills.  A commitment to children’s rights is also essential for this role.
